In October we’re taking a long, hard and in-depth look at the link between animal abuse and human abuse. You may be shocked to learn just how much of a link there is. WILD TIME has talked to three people who have researched this for years, namely Malcolm Plant, Professor Philip Tedeschi and Professpr Eleonora – Gullone. Other topics this month: The Vegan Information Project (VIP) in Dublin/Ireland and the plight of the nearly extinct fire salamanders in Holland and an interview with multi-award wining director Tim Gorski.

SEPTEMBER 2013 SCHEDULE

11.09.2013 - Blackfish is the new documentary by Gabriela Cowperthwaite that examines the death of former Sea World trainer Dean Brencheau and looks at the life of the killer whale Tilikum, who has been involved in the death of three people. The documentary asks the question whether or not these magnificent cetaceans should be in catrivity especially since there is no report of them ever harming humans in the wild. WILD TIME talked to Gabriela about the documentary and followed up by asking movie goers about their opinions on BLACKFISH.

18.09.2013 - Freedom Blue - is a project aiming at educating people about cetaceans. Freedom Blue is also also a music project spearheaded by author and activist Len Varley. Wild Time caught up with the man and talked to him about the project

25.09.2013 - The beggar cats of Niigata / Japan . For all intents and purposes, stray cats hardly make the news these days BUT when they show up in a small village in rural Japan it is a different story entirely. WILD TIME welcomes back Steven Harsha who lives in Niigata and whose video about the cats prompted us to talk to him again.
